Charlie Waits...

I have two dogs who are each motivated by very different means. Jack is motivated by anything slightly edible. I say slightly because he has been known to eat paper, string, aluminum cans and even beautiful crown molding. Jack will do anything for food, he adores to eat and unfortunately due to extensive surgery he is voraciously hungry and relentlessly skinny. Charlie, on the other hand is purely motivated by attention. He is insanely jealous and wants to be the center of everyone's universe. He does however have one great new love, Paul. Whenever Paul leaves the house, no matter if it is a few minutes or even a few hours, Charlie sits and waits at the door staring at it intensely willing it to open. It is quite sad actually but also a bit promising, after all they say dogs are wonderful judges of character.

Deliciousness

For the Thanksgiving holiday I made 22 dozen -- YES 22 dozen chocolate chip cookies for the nurses at the hospital as well as an extra batch for Paul to take to work. I think the secret to a great batch of cookies lies in the chilling of the dough in the refrigerator for a few hours to let the ingredients to meld together.

Now I Know!

I have always wondered what Jack and Charlie did all day long. Because there are sometimes signs when I get home, I know somedays they wrestle on the couch. Some days Jack eats the papers that I mistakenly leave on the coffee table and sometimes when they are feeling extra frisky they empty their toy basket and, from the best I can tell, proceed to strew them about the entire house. But I have always wondered what they actually did all day long. Maybe they have friends over that I don't know about. Maybe they discovered how to turn the TV on and watch the Dog Whisperer all day, which if so they haven't picked up one damn morsel of knowledge from.

Well, wonder no more...now I know what they do all day from cold hard surveillance. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wetodddid (Obviously this link is not always activated...since I am not into broadcasting myself when I am doing important things around the house like staring at the TV eating. I have some respect for privacy....Jack and Charlie have nothing to hide...I apparently do.

Another Day Up North

Now the story goes....the buffalo on the wall of this random breakfast place, somewhere between Morgan Hill and Half Moon Bay, actually talks. However when we were watching him he didn't utter a word. I am thinking he was probably worried about dropping his bow.

Bocce Time!

After a great birthday horseback riding we all rallied and went to dinner and to play bocce ball. I was so very tired but since the girls won the game and schooled the guys it was worth staying up.

After dinner and tiramibirthday cake I was still a hungry hippo.

An evening at the winery

After a long day at golf my mom, Tony, Paul and I went to the Clos Le Chance Winery to have some yummy turkey day left overs, drink some wine and listen to jazz...the jazz was a guy with a guitar playing cover songs of Jack Johnson but nonetheless it was a nice way to end the day.

My cute boys!
